Erectile Dysfunction Drug
Erectile Dysfunction (ED) is the inability to achieve or maintain an erection adequate to permit satisfactory sexual intercourse. It is the inability to obtain an erection sufficient to permit satisfactory sexual intercourse, which may result from conditions such as diabetes, vascular disease, heart disease, pulmonary arterial hypertension, high blood pressure, and other conditions that can predispose individuals to ED. Sildenafil, the active ingredient in the Revised medication, is approved for the treatment of erectile dysfunction (ED).
Revised dosage is available in a pack of four tablets. The Revised tablets should be taken in the morning with or without food, approximately an hour before sexual activity.
For patients with mild to moderate symptoms of ED, Revised dosages of 40 mg or 100 mg can be taken in the morning, while the 100 mg dose can be taken at the same time. Patients with severe symptoms (such as an inability to achieve an erection) should be switched to Revised in the evening.
Revised may be used in combination with other ED medications, such as Viagra or Cialis, for the treatment of ED. The Revised medication is not indicated for the treatment of pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH) or other types of ED.
Sildenafil is the active ingredient of the Revised formulation. Sildenafil is rapidly and extensively absorbed from the gastrointestinal tract. It is rapidly absorbed from the stomach, intestinal tract, and the small intestine. Sildenafil is rapidly absorbed from the blood stream and penetrates the tissues. It has an elimination rate of approximately 30 mL/min. Sildenafil is rapidly absorbed and eliminated in the body, in about 10 hours. The maximum plasma concentration is attained after 3 to 4 hours of taking this drug. The plasma half-life is approximately 4 to 6 hours. The plasma clearance is approximately 1.2 to 1.7 mL/kg/minute. The most common side effects of Sildenafil include headache, dyspepsia, nausea, diarrhea, and abdominal pain.
